Gary and Compass represented us as Sellers. I was very impressed with the expertise and guidance from Gary and the Compass team. We had some issues selling our property in Summer 2024. We called Gary after it didn't go well. He was creative in his approach to price and time of the year to sell. We ended up with basically a full-price offer - in a buyers market - and only had the house on the market for about a month before the offer. We had lots of showings immediately. That is VERY good in the Big Bear market. I also really appreciated their approach to using analytics software to present his findings and keep us up to date of progress along the way. You don't find many agents in Big Bear using tech tools - I really respected and appreciated the office's commitment to using new tools to give them the edge. At the end of closing, the buyers went dark, missed some deadlines - and start to worry us. Gary stuck with it, supported our anxiety in the process, and brought the sale home for us.

We just closed on a house with Daniel Bittner. He was a wonderful agent. He had a great knowledge of the current market in the area as well as what would be useful for a home in the mountains. We looked at several houses in the Crestline area both from our own searches and from Daniels suggestion. In the end we ended up going with a house he suggested because it turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. Daniel helped us navigate through the process in this particularly competitive moment for buyers. He was very knowledgeable about the negotiation process and had a lot of great insight of how to go about that process to achieve what we were looking for. He was also a great emissary between us and the list agent and totally came through in securing the terms we were looking for in our purchase. His tact and suggestions really sealed the deal. Daniel also had great ideas for potential upgrades to the house and ways to increase its value. He also was very helpful in connecting us to a wide array of local vendors for our inspection and future renovation needs. I worked with Gary Doss and John Porter to sell my father's home in Pasadena. They came highly recommended and I wanted the best experience for my parents. The outcome was unbelievable and John and Gary did everything to make it easy on my aged parents. John even met with my parents and had them sign paper contracts because that is what was easiest for my father and mother. He also updated them on the progress of the transaction every step of the way. Previously we, my husband and I, were thinking about selling both of our houses. We have engaged in real estate agents locally before and we had never been successful. We became very hesitant about working with any agent locally. However, we had received several notifications by postal mail from Compass both from Gary Doss and Brad King. At that time, we were not familiar with Compass but did find that they worked locally and their mail items they sent us included one thing that was very impressive. Brad King sent us a complete portfolio of our house which showed us that he had already done the homework without obligation and was willing to step up to the challenge of selling our home. Another thing that impressed us was when we finally called Compass, Brad King came to the house during this time of the pandemic with his mask on for our protection. As we spoke yet another thing impressed me was when Brad King asked us what we wanted to see in a realtor. We said we wanted a realtor to be hard working and professional. Brad did not disappoint. Before we knew it a for sale sign was up. Brad called with updates on the sale daily. He made us feel that our business was important and special. Our research showed that the house was listed in all realtor markets together with very impressive pictures with the core of the house featured and a strong and truthful statement written by Brad and his team about the strengths of the house. When the house was shown to the first MLS buyer a bid was placed at the listing price that Brad suggested that was greater than what we originally suggested in cash and escrow closed smoothly 21 days later. This great and professional experience has us engaging Brad to help us with the challenging purchase of a house in Beaumont and later the sale of our second house we currently own.

Daniel was really well organised, friendly, and helpful. He was able to answer all our questions in the searching for a home phase, and his colleague Gary was also superb in the making an offer phase and dealing with all the paperwork for the purchase. Daniel made himself available at all the times we had free to look at properties, and was also generous with his time on the telephone and by text message (at all hours), which was super helpful with our busy schedule. We had another agent that was not working out for us and a friend referred us to Gary. Gary was amazing, my wife and I went up the hill several times and Gary had a list of houses that were exactly what we were looking for and in the location we wanted to be in. Gary was able to get us the house below what it was worth! During the closing process Gary showed up for everything, inspection, appraisal and even went there to make sure the house was ok after the heavy rain and snow. GARY DOSS IS BY FAR THE WORST REAL ESTATE AGENT I HAVE EVER HIRED TO LIST MY PROPERTY. NEVER DID WHAT HE PROMISED TO DO MARKETING MY PROPERTY IN BIG BEAR LAKE. HE REFUSED TO GIVE ME SIGNED COPY OF MY SIGNED LISTING. 2 MONTHS LATER I GOT A COPY FROM THE LADY THAT ANSWERS THE PHONES TO FIND OUT GARY CHANGED THINGS IN THE LISTING. HE PROMISED & WROTE THAT IF I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH HIM I CAN CANCEL THE LISTING AT ANYTIME. HE WOULD NOT TAKE LESS THAN 6 MONTH LISTING. WHEN I FINALLY GOT A COPY HE HAD CHANGED TO WHAT WE AGREED WITH TO I CAN WITHDRAW FROM MLS ANYTIME. DID NOT LET ME OUT OF OUR AGREEMENT. HE NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS. I HAD THE SAID PROPERTY VACANT TO BE EASIER TO SHOW PROPERTY. HE WROTE IN THE LISTING CALL FOR APPT. HE DID NOT RETURN AGENTS CALLS EITHER. PEOPLE & RE AGENTS KEEP GOING TO THE NEXT DOOR TO FIND OUT HOW TO SHOW MY PROPERTY. GARY DID NOT HAVE OPEN HOUSES LIKE HE SAID HE WOULD.. I FOUND OUT EVERYTHING AFTER I PUT UP MY OWN SIGN ON MY PROPERTY. PEOPLE & AGENTS TOLD ME HOW THEY COULD NOT GET INTO SEE MY PROPERTY, NO KEY IN THE LOCK BOX OR IN GARYS OFFICE. GARY HAD 1 OPEN HOUSE. HE SCARED THE PEOPLE THAT LOVED MY PROPERTY. IT WAS DARK INSIDE THE HOUSE & GARY WAS STANDING OUTSIDE SOME BUYERS SAID. THEY ASKED COULD THEY GO IN, GARY ROLLED HIS EYES & SAID GO IN AT YOUR OWN RISK. THEY SAID THEY RAN IN & OUT FAST BECAUSE OF WHAT GARY SAID. AN AGENT FRIEND OF GARYS SAID HE HAD A CLIENT THAT WAS INTERESTED AND GARY TOLD HIM DONT BOTHER, YOU DONT WANT TO SHOW THIS PROPERTY. BRUCE SAID TO ME AFTER, HE DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHY GARY SAID THAT. THE PICTURES GARY USED FOR MY LISTING AND HIS FLIERS WERE BAD & LOOKED UNCLEAR & POORLY DONE. SO NOT TO BE ABLE TO TELL WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT. THEY WERE 1/2 OF EVERYTHING..TERRIBLE FUZZY& DID NOT LOOK LIKE MY PROPERTY. I GAVE HIM GOOD PICTURES HE REFUSED TO USE. HE FINALLY USED SOME OF MINE AFTER 3 MONTHS. GARY HAD ME VERY UPSET, FINANCIALLY & MENTALLY DRAINED. I CANT IMAGINE HE STILL IN BUSINESS.

He then put it into action and we just closed escrow with ease! There are a lot of activities that go into today's real estate market to get the job done and Gary Doss and his team do them all!
