Charged with selling my mother?s seventy-year-old house, I didn?t know what to do. Based upon my cousin?s strong recommendation, I turned to Ian. He handled everything from the clean-out, the minor repairs, the landscaping arrangements. His knowledge of West Los Angeles real estate trends proved invaluable. He recommended a few very modest cosmetic renovations that increased the house?s value dramatically and succeeded in bringing the house to market within 45 days of my mother?s passing. Ian Brooks has been our real estate professional for many years and has handled well over a dozen transactions for us. He is an absolute All-Star. He is very well educated both in the liberal arts (including several languages, which is handy when dealing with foreign prospects for sale or lease because it puts them immediately at ease and ready to do business) and the realities of the business world. But his strongest asset is his insight into the practicalities that make people tick. In his latest transaction for us he both steered us away from a potentially catastrophic proposed tenant (gaining insight because his French was superior to that of the prospect) and to a jewel who might have been overlooked because he had recently been overextended due to having volunteered to assume obligations in a family crises that were not his to pay but had overcome the obstacles and was back on an even financial keel. The prospect is now a gem of a tenant. This wasnt a sob story but, instead, the exercise in both professional thoroughness and keen personal insight. In that particular case it didnt hurt that he spoke fluent Spanish, the tenants first language. Anyone retaining Ian Brooks is getting the full package, personal and professional. You should be so lucky.

We had a terrible experience withA Ian. We had an appointment this morningA to see an apartment. He arrived late and angry. My husband freed himself last minute to come with me so I asked Ian If he can sign the covid 19 pead and visit the apartment with me. Instead of refusing politely which I would have totally understood and would have visited the apartment by myself, he was very aggressive and mean. Based on how disrespectful he was and because he arrived late, I decided to not see the apartment and leave. He followed me in the streets yelling and bragging about how wealthy heA was, that he has an MBA from Stanford, and how many languages he speaks.
